It's Been Raining..

Actually it's been raining a lot. Fifteen of the past nineteen days have had some precipitation (rain) during the day. Today, it's been throwing it down on us, hasn't it dad? My dad's "working at home" today because my usual walking buddy is home sick and my other walking buddy is all booked up. So it's my dad who's the walker of last resort. You look kind of wet and drippy dad. Why are you mumbling stuff when you look at your phone?

"There are some things that I need to take care of Sam, people have questions." "Do they involve food, treats or ice cream?", "No Sam, the questions are about work and stuff." "I think that you should put away your phone and listen to the rain instead dad." "Okay Sam, let's do that so we can both dry off".

"Okay, let's go. And oh dad...". "Yes Sam?" " Thanks for taking me for a walk even though we both got wet and soggy. I love you dad". "I love you too Sam".

Everything's Blossoming

It's been warm and cool up here recently but at least we know that Spring is here and summer can't be too far behind. We're looking forward to local strawberries and vanilla ice cream. Yum.

Sunshade and Elaine Fund - Thank you

We're sorry. My dad got all busy and stuff and hasn't had a real opportunity to write a wrap-up post to the Sunshade and Elaine Fund. We're very pleased to report that we received a total of $490.00 USD in donations and after allowing for fees paid to PayPal, we will be forwarding a total of $470.83 CAN to Elaine to help with Sunshade's vet fees. We also received a large number of good wishes that we would also like to acknowledge. To everyone who contributed and sent their well wishes. Thank you for your generosity and for the fact that you cared enough to do something for a friend.

Sunshade and Elaine Fund Update

Hello everyone, thank you to those who have been so generous in donating money to the "Sunshade and Elaine" Fund. As of this post, $300 has been contributed. My dad has asked Sue, Molly and Mitch's mom to help administer the PayPal account that receives the donations. My dad has given Sue full access to the account so that all matters relating to the receipt and eventual disbursement of the funds is "fully above board" and that two people (my dad and Sue) are able to account for each and every penny donated and that will eventually be disbursed to Elaine. Please let me know or Sue know if you have any questions regarding the fund.

Here's a picture of me and Sunshade doing a "meet and greet" at a pool that we both used to swim at. Ah...okay,  ladies first :)

Oh hot dog :)

Thank you to all. We'll keep collecting donations for the next while. I promise to provide regular updates on the grand total raised. If you or someone else would like to contribute to Sunshade and Elaine Fund, please copy and paste the PayPal link into your browser. Thank you.http://tinyurl.com/bycuqjs

A Little Help From My Friends

Request for help. Some of you may know Sunshade and her mom Elaine (http://www.sunshadethesuperdale.com/) Sunshade has not been well because she came down with a mysterious ailment late last Friday evening/Saturday morning and Sunshade was taken to Seattle Veterinary Specialists in Kirkland, WA by her mom. The Seattle clinic thought that Sunshade was suffering from gastroentritis but her usual vet is currently investigating the possibility that it may be something related to Cushings or Addisons. To date, Sunshade's condition has improved after many IVs and antibiotics. Her bloody diarrhea has finally stopped although she still has periodic episodes of vomiting. The Seattle vet bill of  $2500 plus further vet bills for aftercare and treatment back at her usual clinic in Canada have stretched things a bit so I thought that it might be a good idea to stage a bit of a fundraiser to share some of the burden. However, please don't feel obligated, your good thoughts will also be gratefully received, welcomed and forwarded to Elaine and Sunshade. However, if you can manage, a donation would be very much appreciated. Thank you. Sammy.

Sunshade at Seattle Veterinary Specialists

I feel really sick.

Sunshade has a "pee pad" to catch the discharge.

Taking over mom's bed. The pee pad came along too.

If you'd like to leave a comment, please leave it on my blog and I'll send them to Elaine. If you're able to make a donation, , please carefully copy and paste into your browser. This will take you to PayPal. Thank you.

I was wagging my tail...

I was at my usual monthly acupuncture treatment with my doctor Janice and she's got all these needles in me and wriggling them around and all of a sudden, my tail starts wagging. Not once or twice but wagging just like I used to, back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. My dad's looking at Janice with his mouth open and Janice asks, "has he done that before?" My dad says no, not like that since his injury back in 2010. Anyways, I kept wagging my tail, stopped, then started up again. Janice was so excited that she ran out to tell her tech "Kate", who came into the room and watched me wag my tail. Janice went out to the parking lot to see if she could spot my mom. Janice comes back into the exam room and my dad finally gets out his camera and starts to film and guess what? I stopped wagging my tail. Ha, ha dad. Anyways my dad did get some video of my tail sticking out but no wagging. Duh dad.

Mr. Noodle Head

I have these really long ears and I've had lifelong problems with moisture getting trapped and itchiness developing. My mom and dad think that my chronic condition all started when we were little puppies and my brother Owen used to happily lick the insides of my ears. Owen's a little different but then again, in this family, no one would notice :)

We've been treating my condition with Serolan and laser treatments but it also helps to keep moisture out of there as well. Hence the big pool noodle. This device is supposed to help keep my head out of the water. It looks a little goofy but it does work. But dosen't it come in a manly color? Pink is for Katie and Glogirly, isn't it?

Here's me, swimming with this stupid thing on. I better get EXTRA treats for this dad!

Family Portraits

It's finally beginning to get warmer here. Yesterday it reached a daytime high of  about 70 degrees F.  (21 degress C.) and it's supposed to get warmer until Wednesday when it'll get a little cloudy and cooler. Anyways, we're enjoying the sunny skies and my mom even "dug" out our cool coats because she's worried that we'll overheat in the sun with our naturally black furs. So in order to celebrate our "heat wave", my mom and dad took some "family potraits".

No Jetta, your tongue is supposed to be inside your mouth for the portrait!!!

That's better.

Tuvia

Owen (from last month, because he ran off before my dad could get his camera out).

And me. Hope that all is well.
